I wish these stuffy old fools would get their head around the fact that drug use is too general a title, and will not inevitably lead to addiction. In addition to this, they need to learn how to define between drug use and criminal activity. If people commit crimes whilst on drugs, there are already laws for that, so what is so criminal about using substances that are no more dangerous than alcohol or cigarettes in your own home? Brand is right, addiction needs to be treated with compassion, but not like children. Would you patronise someone on anti-deppressants? Stop trying to control the people…the more they try, the more rules they put in place to keep control… well, rules were made to be broken will soon become a way of life. If people want drugs, they’ll get them regardless of their legal state. Might as well make them legal, vaguely accessible and produce them with as little dangerous substances cut into them as possible. The government opinion of drug pressures is so off mark, it’s hilarious.
